I watched my first Super Bowl on TV in 1972

1971 was gone and now 1972 was about to begin.  I had no new year resolutions.  I was happy to be with Margaret in our apartment.  I was driving out to Franklin Park every day.  I was taking a business course at Loyola.  Everything was new and exciting.  This was a brand-new year with a presidential election.  The only downer was that my father had throat cancer.  Other than that, everything else was fine.  I got to watch my first Super Bowl in January, 1972, between the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins.  The Cowboys defeated the Dolphins by the score of 24–3, to win their first Super Bowl at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana, where the temperature was only 39, the coldest Super Bowl ever played.  The Dolphins under Don Shula were making their first Super Bowl appearance. The Cowboys under Tom Landry dominated Miami, setting Super Bowl records for the most rushing yards, the most first downs, and the fewest points allowed.  Dallas linebacker Chuck Howley intercepted a pass of Bob Greise for a touchdown, while Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach was named the Super Bowl MVP.  This was the last Super Bowl blackout.  Dallas also had an outstanding trio of running backs, Walt Garrison, Duane Thomas, and Calvin Hill with wide receivers Bob Hayes and Lance Alworth. They also had a great offensive line, with Rayfield Wright, John Niland, Ralph Neely, and Forrest Gregg.  The Dallas defense was nicknamed the “Doomsday Defense,” with Bob Lilly, Chuck Howley, Dave Edwards, Lee Roy Jordan, Herb Adderley, Mel Renfro, Cliff Harris, and Cornell Green.  The Miami Dolphins were led by quarterback Bob Griese and wide receiver Paul Warfield with running backs Larry Csonka and Jim Kiick.  The Dolphins also had an excellent offensive line with guard Larry Little.  Their defense was led by linebacker Nick Buoniconti and safety Jake Scott.  What is the first Super Bowl that you saw?
